Medi-Cal

Blue Cross of California provides you with the strength of one of the most respected companies in the state. By collaborating with the state of California, we created a Medi-Cal program that provides the advantages of an HMO program to Medi-Cal members. Medi-Cal HMO promotes access, prevention, improves quality of care for its members while educating its members and providers.

Medi-Cal is Californiaıs health care program that provides a variety of medical services and resources to the children and adults in our state with limited income. Federal and state taxes support Medi-Cal. You can apply for Medi-Cal benefits in spite of race, age, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, or veteran status. If you are eligible for Medi-Cal, you can receive the benefits of this health care program as long as you meet the eligibility conditions.

Medi-Cal eligibility is determined by your local County Welfare/Social Service Department; if you have any additional questions, you should contact them.

You can receive Medi-Cal if you already qualify for cash assistance under one of the following programs: Supplemental Security Income/State Supplemental Program; California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids; Refugee Assistance; Foster Care or Adoption Assistance Program. You may also be eligible if you are 65 or older, if you are blind, disabled, under age 21, pregnant, diagnosed with breast or cervical cancer, if you are in a skilled nursing care facility, if you have refugee status for a limited time, if a parent or caretaker of a child under age 21 and if the childıs parent is deceased, doesnıt live with the child, if the parent is incapacitated or the childıs parent is the main wage earner.

Note: Only residents of California can get Medi-Cal.
